During a press briefing today, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders fielded questions from hostile reporters all over the room.
One reporter, Johnathan Karl of ABC News, accused President Trump of not being tough on Russia after it was proven that they meddled in the 2016 election to sow discord among American citizens.
Karl asked why the head of the NSA has not been given authority to investigate the Russian meddling, implying that President Trump has not given it to him.
Sarah answers him point blank that Trump has actually just given $40 million to the Global Engagement Center, which is dedicated to “providing immediate support to public and private partners that expose and counter Chinese and Russian propaganda and disinformation.
She also stressed that they are looking at a variety of different ways that we can prevent things like this happening in the future. Johnathan did not like that answer.
“[The Director of the NSA] is the one that could actually go and confront Russian intrusion at the source and he hasn’t been given the authority.”
She then ended him with a final brutal statement that no liberal will want to hear.
“No one is denying him that authority. … This president has been much tougher on Russia than his predecessor. Let’s not forget that this happened under Obama. It didn’t happen under President Trump. If you want to blame somebody on past problems then you need to look at the Obama administration.”
Boom! Finally, Sarah tells them the inconvenient truth that they did not want to hear or admit. The one responsible for letting Russia off the hook is Obama.
